The impact each human has on the environment is huge. And using some simple swaps and new habits can make a massive difference in the world, for the better.
Reduce Waste Now took to Instagram to share some powerful and simple “before and after” lifestyle swaps for going green.
Check out 5 below:
1. Use what you have
It can be easy to get caught up in buying new “eco friendly” products. But what happens to the less eco-friendly products you’re replacing? Chances are, they’ll end up in land fill. So, the most environmentally friendly thing to do is use what you have until it’s no longer useable. And then replace it with the better option.
2. Progress > Perfection
It’s better to make sustainable, practical choices for the long-term than try and be “perfect” and give up.
3. Eat what you have and proper food storage
There are a lot of ways to reduce food waste, and some are as simple as eating what you have instead of throwing it away. Using some tips mentioned below can also help food last better and be enjoyable for longer.
4. Ditch the plastic toothbrush
Toothbrushes have to be replaced every few months. And they take hundreds of years to break down in landfills. But using a biodegradable toothbrush, like a bamboo toothbrush, can greatly reduce this environmental burden.
5. Replace liquid soap with bar soap
Bar soap, like this, can easily be found with minimal packaging and sustainable ingredients.
