With the coronavirus pandemic, most of us are staying home (or should be). Many people have been laid off work, scheduled to work from home, or work part-time remote and part-time in the office. However, not everyone has the luxuory of staying home and social distancing during the pandemic. Police officers, paramedics, EMTs, nurses, doctors, and firefighters still have the face the public and risk their own wellbeing in doing so.

Starbucks announced they are offering free coffee to front-line responders through May 3rd, 2020.

If you qualify for free coffee (i.e., you’re on the front-lines of the COVID-19 pandemic), simply identify yourself as such (with proof of identification on hand just in case) and you’ll receive a tall brewed coffee (hot or iced) at no charge.

In addition to this amazing effort of Starbucks to take care of its people, the company is also donating $500,000 to support U.S. front-line responders.

Starbucks CEO Kevin Johnson wrote:

“It is the responsibility of every business to care for its employees during this time of uncertainty, shared sacrifice, and common cause. I hope to see many business leaders across this country doing all they can to retain jobs, pay employees, continue benefits, and demonstrate compassion as they make critical decisions. Not every decision is a financial one.”
