Katy Perry is going vegan, she recently revealed. According to her announcement, her small dog Nugget is going vegan with her.
“I’m about 95% ready to be 100% VEGAN… my dog Nugget has been joining me on this journey for the past 4 monthz. Pray for us ok,” she tweeted.

The announcement may come as little surprise to those who’ve been following her. The popular singer is an open fan of the Impossible Buger, preferring to beef patties. In fact, she loves the burger so much that she’s dressed up in an Impossible Burger customer on multiple occasions.

She also recently shared a photo of the Hidden Valley Vegan Ranch, saying, “OMG PRAYERS ANSWERED.”
Perry’s partner Orlando Bloom also enjoys vegan food and admitted he’s 90% vegan in an interview with The Sunday Times Style.
Katy Perry Feeding Her Dog Vegan
A lot of people were excited about her decision to go 100% vegan. However, Perry received a lot of backlash on her Twitter from people who didn’t realize dogs can safely be vegan. A lot of comments were shaming her for “forcing” a vegan diet on her dog and not feeding the dog a “natural” meat diet.

Is it actually ok for dogs to eat vegan?
According to the experts, yes. As one study reported, “a significant and growing body of population studies and case reports have indicated that [dogs] maintained on vegetarian diets may be healthy—including those exercising at the highest levels—and, indeed, may experience a range of health benefits.”

According to the experts, the most important thing is that their diets are “nutritionally complete and reasonably balanced.”
It seems that a lot of people assume feeding a dog vegan or vegetarian means feeding them only fruits, grains, or veggies. However, for most people it means feeding them dry dog food from big dog food brands – like the majority of non-vegan dogs eat. Our recommended vegan dog food is from Natural Balance and is professionally formulated to be adequate for dogs.
