Chick-fil-A vegan sauce is a thing and it’s now available in bottles at the store. Chick-fil-A has a fairly bad wrap amongst animal lovers, for good reason. The name alone represents dead chickens and fish. But, they do have a few select vegan items and now the Chick-fil-A vegan sauce is launching into stores.

According to its website, Chick-fil-A is releasing two different bottled sauces as part of a pilot program in Florida this April. The sauces being sold are regular “Chick-fil-A” sauce and the “Polynesian” sauce. The Polynesian sauce is vegan and can be purchased in 16oz bottles at participating Publix, Target, Walmart, and Winn-Dixie stores in Florida.

Why Is This Good for Veganism?

Many vegans would rather support more veg-friendly companies and we totally get it. But, when a more “mainstream” company offers vegan options or alternatives, even if they’re accidentally vegan, it helps the movement!

Having the Polynesian sauce become more readily available in bottles at the store may encourage people to choose that sauce over one of Chick-fil-A’s non-vegan sauce options. Even if the sales are from non-vegans who don’t care about the animals, the results are the same: less animal suffering.

What’s better? None of the proceeds are going to the company’s profit! Chick-fil-A vegan sauce bottle announcement says, “100 percent of Chick-fil-A, Inc. proceeds from the retail sales of the 16-ounce Bottled Sauces will be donated to Chick-fil-A’s Team Member scholarship program, which will award $17 million to 6,700 Team Members in 2020. The program provides opportunities for them to attend college and achieve a remarkable future.”

When companies do the right thing, regardless of its due to morals or public demand (like in this case with Starbucks), it’s helpful to applaud them and encourage more of that behavior. You can purchase Chick-fil-A’s vegan Polynesian sauce and know you’re supporting the vegan movement!
