Truly announced last month the launch of their new product, Truly Iced Tea Hard Seltzer.
The teas are now available nationwide. The variety pack features four (vegan) Truly Iced Tea Hard Seltzers, with flavors including Lemon, Raspberry, Peach, and Strawberry.
Each can contains 1 gram of sugar, 100 calories, and have a 5% ALC/VOL. While White Claw hard seltzers also have 100 calories and 5% ALC/VOL. per can, they’re yet to release an iced tea version of their seltzers.
To celebrate the launch of their iced tea seltzer, Truly launched a “Try January” campaign – a play on “dry January.” They had merch for sale on their website and were encouraging participants to try new drinks, like their newest seltzer.
A truck driver for Rumpke Waste & Recycling saved a puppy’s life after finding her discarded along his route. And now, he’s adopting her.
Aaron Kinsel was working in Colerain Township, near Cincinnati, Ohio, he noticed a backpack lying on the side of the road along his route. Seeing what appeared to be a tiny snout sticking out, Kinsel stopped to investigate. In the backpack, he found an abandoned puppy!
The 10-week-old puppy had been shoved in the backpack and thrown to the curb – but thankfully, her cruel fate was cut short by Kinsel.
“I felt like I was meant to find her,” Kinsel said in a Rumpke press release.
According to Rumpke, the little pooch was severely dehydrated and had a broken leg when she was discovered. Thankfully, the Rumpke Safety managed to get the little dog, named Tipper, into a vet’s office to receive proper treatment.
Due to the break, Tipper required her leg to be completely amputated. Rumpke is committed to paying for the treatment of the dog. Once she’s recovered, she’ll find her forever home with Kinsel and his family – and be an honorary member of the Rumpke team.
Tipper has since undergone her amputation surgery. According to an update by Rumpke, “The surgery went well and she is currently recovering at the veterinarian office.” She’s expected to join her new home the Kinsel’s by next week.
Funny enough, Kinsel isn’t the only Rumpke member to save an animal (or an amputee). According to Tracy Combs, her son also works for Rumpke and spotted a tiny kitten in the road on his way to work. The kitten required her front left leg to be amputated, and Tracy ended up adopting her afterward. Her name is Tripp – similar to Kinsel’s new 3-legged girl, Tipper!
“Rumpke drivers are trained to remain observant. We do our best to take care of our communities and always do the right thing,” said Kendra Catherman Cincinnati safety manager at Rumpke, according to the press release. It seems like they’re doing a great job!
A new vegan cereal was just released and it turns your milk into coffee.
If you’re ever in a hurry and don’t have time to eat your cereal AND drink your coffee than this is the perfect breakfast for you.
The cereal called Dash, created by OffLimits, features Intelligentsia coffee and cacao that work to transform the milk in your cereal bowl into drinkable cold brew coffee while you eat. I’m not sure what could get much better than that.
The cereal’s mascot is based on the energizer bunny, which is fitting given it’s caffeinated nature.
Better yet, Dash uses ingredients that are organic, vegan, and gluten-free – all lightly sweetened with organic cane sugar.
Dash reminds me of childhood, with bright packaging and a fun cartoon mascot. It even comes with stickers and little toy, just like they used to when we were kids!
Unlike the cereal from my childhood though, Dash packs a real punch. Though it looks like Cocoa Puffs in apparence, it doesn’t actually taste that sweet. It’s made with more wholesome ingreidents and has the coffee element. If you’re not a fan of the taste of coffee, then this cereal really isn’t for you. However, if you love drinking your coffee between bites of breakfast, you’ll probably love this.
You can buy a box for yourself directly from the OffLimits website. A box of 2 costs $24.
Dash is great news for the vegan community. While most cereals are mostly vegan, a lot of them contain animal-derived vitamins, like vitamin D3 (which is usually made from the fat found in sheep’s wool). Since Dash is labeled as vegan, we can be assured that it won’t include any hidden animal products disguised as vitamins.
Beyond that, it’s also being marketed to a more mainstream audience. I mean, a cereal that turns milk to cold brew? Who wouldn’t want that? The cereal has been featured by several non-vegan outlets, including Popsguar, Sprudge, 12Tomatoes, and Vogue.

Towards the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Caleb and Courtney Sugarman decided to get a few pet ducks. That was back in April, and a few months later, they were gifted some Silkie chickens.
Being new to duck and chicken ownership, the couple wasn’t expecting anything to happen when one of the hens began to sit on a large duck egg. They didn’t realize the broody hen could actually hatch anything, let alone a different species. But to their surprise, a few weeks before Christmas, the hen began to lay even more eggs to sit on.
Courtney shared with The Vegan Insider, “She sat on the duck egg 1st. We’re new to ducks and chickens and just naively thought that it couldn’t hatch. So we let her be then I checked under her about 2 weeks later and realized she had 7 chicken eggs under her as well.”
They decided to let her be and see what would happened. To keep the mama hen from the cold Vermont winter, they pulled her into the house, along with her 8 eggs.
They numbered the eggs to keep track of them.
As Courtney shared with WCAX, just before Christmas, two of the chicken eggs hatched. However, the chicken eggs weren’t alone. A tiny duckbill broke through a shell and appeared.
Courtney told WXAC, “We looked under her and saw a duck bill coming out and we were like, Oh, my gosh! It actually hatched.”
“It was the wrong beak,” Caleb added.
Despite its differences from the other chicks, the little ducks fully believes he’s one of them.
He eats with them, plays with them, and he even tries to nestle his way under mama hen’s body for warmth.
The Sugarmans are keeping the mama, chicks, and duckling all together in the house until they’re big enough to safely live outside.
They plan to introduce the duckling to the rest of their ducks at some point, but they’re unsure how he’ll adapt to life with ducks now that he thinks he’s a chicken.
The company Post recently released Fruity Pebbles Crisps, a new treat inspired by the classic cereal. The pieces are flat and round like potato chips and designed for snaking on the go.
The new treat is the latest spin on the classic Fruity Pebbles cereal, but this time it’s designed to be eaten as a stand-alone snack. They’re basically a sweet chip!
Each of the pieces contains the same colors as the old cereal, but they’re flat and round like a disc. They appear to resemble rice cakes in texture.
The snacks are gluten-free and suitable for some vegans, depending on personal preference. They contain vitamin D3 which is usually made from the fat found in wool.
While the snacks are designed to be like a chip, it’s easy to imagine how good they’d be with soymilk. You could definitely serve them as a bowl of cereal and enjoy a crunchy, chip-like cereal with sweet non-dairy milk.
Post has not made an official statement regarding the new snack. However, people are finding them in several grocery stores including Giant, Food Lion, and Hy-Vee.
Comments from people have been largely positive, with many people excited to give the new Fruity Pebbles Crisps a try.
What do you think of this new snack? Have you gotten to try it yet? Let us know!
When Alyssa Isabel started sharing her new golden retriever puppy, Porter, on social media, she never would’ve guessed he’d go viral. And while he’s got those adorable puppy eyes going, his claim to fame is a little different.
Alyssa was taking a photo of herself with her new puppy as she’d been doing regularly since getting him. She even started him his own Instagram page.
But upon examining one photo she took, Alyssa was shocked at what she saw.
Porter had what appear to be human-looking butt cheeks.
“I initially didn’t even notice his ‘butt cheeks’ in the picture,” Isabel shared with The Dodo. “A few hours later I got back onto my phone to look at the pictures and I noticed the hilarious image. I was like, ‘Oh my gosh, this is too funny.'”
Adorable puppy disclaimer: If you’re inspired by cute puppy pictures to get your own puppy, please remember to adopt and save a dog’s life. Pets are big commitments and adorable puppies eventually turn into dogs. It’s not a decision to make impulsively! And you could always work with dogs instead of adopting as a way to get your puppy fix.
